The OpenScout portal was presented at two conferences organized for the Africa and Middle-East Business schools. Both these events took place in in November, respectively in Capetown (South-Africa) and Casablanca (Morocco). Both conferences included a session on the potential of OER for management, discussing the measures to take to increase their use and presenting the OpenScout project. Participants’ comments were very positive and show that OER can be very useful to support the development of management learning capacities on the continent.

The OpenScout project will present its latest solutions, in particular the new functionalities of the OpenScout portal learn.openscout.net, at Online Educa Berlin, 30 Nov - 1 Dec 2011. Meet us in the exhibition area at the stand of OpenScout's project partner EFMD (Booth A11, Hall Potsdam II).

On November 16-17 2011, the OpenScout member Stefaan Ternier from the Open University of the Netherlands organized an OAI-PMH workshop in Heerlen. The event has been highly successful. As a result, eight new OAI-PMH targets are now available offering relevant content for the OpenScout portal learn.openscout.net. The Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) is a standard for accessing metadata from repositories. This standard is used in OpenScout to enable users to search in multiple high-quality business and management learning repositories from one website.
